What to look for in a daycare gallery
When you look at photos of any child care centre, it helps to know what matters. Here are a few things we suggest you notice, and that you will also see when you visit us:
- Bright, clean and child-friendly rooms. Spaces should be tidy, well lit and set up with age-appropriate toys and materials.
- Room to play. Children need space for active play as well as quiet corners for reading and creative projects.
- Children who look engaged. Happy, busy children are usually a sign of a well-planned day.
- Safety at a glance. Child-proofed play areas and supervised activities are a must.
Life at Midnapore Daycare
At Midnapore Daycare, days are built around play-based learning. Children take part in story time, arts and crafts, music and movement, puzzles and games, outdoor play and simple early number and alphabet activities. The classrooms are monitored by CCTV, toys and shared areas are sanitized daily, and meals and snacks are prepared on site by our in-house cook.
Life at Varsity Kindergarten and Before & After School Care
At Varsity Kindergarten, kindergarten children enjoy phonics, counting, crafts, music, dance and storytelling, along with outdoor play. School-age children arrive before and after school for breakfast, homework time, healthy snacks, games, and indoor and outdoor activities in a supervised setting.
Summer camp and special events
In July and August, our summer camp adds field trips and activities such as swimming, bowling, golf and park days. A gallery can only show so much. It cannot show you how the caregivers speak to the children, how the day flows, or how comfortable your child feels in the room. That is why a tour is the first step in our registration process. Come and meet the team, ask your questions and let your child explore. You can then decide whether Play Play Play is the right fit for your family.

Helping your child get ready for their first visit
Looking through the gallery together is a gentle way to introduce your child to a new place. Talk about the activities you see, such as painting, story time, music and playing outside, and ask which one they are most excited about. Children who know what to expect often feel more relaxed on their first day. When you visit us in person, take your time, let your child explore the space, and notice how they respond to the caregivers and to the other children.
Two locations, one approach to care
Although Midnapore Daycare and Varsity Kindergarten serve different parts of Calgary, they share the same approach. Both are open Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, both encourage free play alongside structured activities, and both keep parents informed about their child's day. Whichever location is closer to home or work, your child will be welcomed into the same caring Play Play Play community.
